With great sadness and tremendous pride, we announce the closing of Hellbender Burritos.
When we opened nearly 18 years ago, no one could have prepared us for how wildly successful our small-town business would become or how amazingly time-consuming preparing made-from-scratch food and finding top notch local beers would be. We have tweaked things along the way, but we never abandoned our commitment to quality, or our commitment to you. When we closed during COVID, we reinvented the wheel and made changes that only increased efficiency and the number of burritos we served on a daily basis. As tourist numbers grew and increased in the area, our loyal staff showed up to make and serve some of the most delicious oversized burritos anyone has ever enjoyed. While our success was shared with our employees (some of whom have been with us since day one) we realized that the continual dedication to our restaurant really meant a lack of attention to our own lives.
Our commitment to quality and consistency and to our community has only been topped by our customers' commitment to us. So, to you we say thank you....immensely. But the time has come for us to enjoy this area as much as everyone who comes to visit does. May Swimmy live on in your hearts forever. See you on the trails!
